This late afternoon, another stop June include Hartberg, a town in Styria, Austria, the capital of the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district. A settlement was located here in the Neolithic ages. One of the most important, prehistoric settlements of Styria developed on “Ringkogel” in the 3rd century BC. A massive protective wall surrounded it. Only two towers remain of the 7-8 metre high and 1500 metre long wall. (Schölbinger Tower and Reck Tower). The first mention of Hartberg as a city was in a 1286 document. During the 15th century it was conquered by King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary. This evening arrive in Vienna for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 9 | June 9 | Vienna
Today we explore this captivating capital city. This includes: The Hofburg Palace, once the seat of the Austro–Hungarian Empire, magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and other vivid reminders of Vienna’s imperial history. Vienna was home to many brilliant composers including Beethoven, Berg, Brahms, Gluck and Haydn and we spend time exploring the impact these composers had on the city.  Tonight we celebrate our time together with a special farewell dinner and concert! The “Wiener Mozart Konzerte” is a classic Mozart orchestra that has been performing all around the world for over 30 years. This experience takes us back to the 18th century. (B, FWD, Concert)

Day 10 | June 10 | Vienna Departure to USA
After breakfast we gather and head to the airport for our return flights to the US. (B)

During most of our pilgrimages one can expect to walk several miles daily. For this reason we suggest you prepare yourself by walking regularly at least four weeks prior to your trip. Generally you will walk a bit, then break or visit, celebrate Mass, tour, etc. and continue. Expect each day to have at least a combined two or three hours walking. We want you to have an incredible and memorable time, but not memorable in the sense of a difficult experience. Get ready physically as well as spiritually for a real Catholic Pilgrimage!
